Changes to Transfer on Death Designations for Real Estate


On December 28, 2009, Ohio legislation (SB 124) took effect requiring that the designation of a beneficiary of transfer on death of real property must be created by affidavit rather than by a deed. The bill does not affect existing transfer on death deeds filed prior to December 28, 2009.
